Description
Parmigiano Reggiano DOP aged 24 months has a harmonious, mild flavour – sweet and aromatic, with delicate notes of milk, butter and fresh fruit. The paste is crumbly and grainy, shot through with white tyrosine crystals that indicate the long ageing and high digestibility.
Rich in protein, vitamins and minerals, it is a healthy, light cheese – ideal for children, older people, athletes as well as pregnant and breastfeeding women. Naturally lactose-free.
Personally selected at Latteria Villa Curta near Reggio Emilia, vacuum-packed and delivered with carta politenata.
Yes. During the first 48 hours of ageing, lactic acid bacteria break down the milk sugar (lactose) completely. Parmigiano Reggiano is therefore naturally lactose-free – without additives and without intervention.
The 24-month Parmigiano is mild, sweet and harmonious with a crumbly texture – ideal for everyday use. The 36-month is more complex and intense, with notes of spices and dried fruit – perfect with red wine and Balsamico Riserva.
DOP (Denominazione di Origine Protetta, protected designation of origin) guarantees that the cheese is produced exclusively in the region of origin (Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena and parts of Bologna and Mantua) according to the strict rules of the Consortium.
